A Very Lumpy Sail - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 13 | DrakeParagon Sailing
It's a long day and a lumpy sail this close to shore...and all that stands between us and our anchorage is a very busy harbour!
-
Sailing the Coast to Avoid Orcas! - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 12 | DrakeParagon Sailing
It is an early morning aboard Paragon, but we have a long sail ahead of us...mainly because we have to stay so close to shore to avoid Orcas. But being this close to shore had its disadvantages which we discover all too soon!
-
Voyage Planning for an Early Sail - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 11 | DrakeParagon Sailing
Strait of Gibraltar Spain
The storm has passed and it's time to push off on our coastal sail towards The Strait of Gibraltar. But first it's time to break out our chart plotting app, our weather app, and a tidal app to make a plan...a voyage plan.
-
This Broke...And I'm Okay With That? Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 10 | DrakeParagon Sailing
We end the sail with a rather blustery anchorage. How windy was it? I don't know...but listen to why I don't think that's a bad thing.
-
Ramming Speed! - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 9 | DrakeParagon Sailing
Some days you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and other days you wake up on...the saucy side of the bed? We're on the move again, and I'm feeling saucy!
-

First Day Sailing Portugal - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 6 | DrakeParagon Sailing
We are so excited to have arrived in Portugal, even if it is very rolly. But there are strong winds coming, so it's an early morning for Paragon as we push towards a safe anchorage.
-
Land Ho! We Arrive in Portugal - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 5 | DrakeParagon Sailing
This is the most dangerous part of the sail and we're stuck with some difficult decisions. We don't want to arrive to a strange, new anchorage in the dark, but we can't stop in Orca waters and shipping lanes to wait for sunrise.
-
Cooking While Sailing Offshore - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 4 | DrakeParagon Sailing
We're sailing in rolly seas while on constant watch for Orcas and cargo ships. Seems like it's a good time to...make some pizza? Cooking a delicious meal while sailing can improve morale.
-
A Day in the Life of Sailing Offshore - Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 3 | DrakeParagon Sailing
We're dodging cargo ships, navigating shipping lanes, and dealing with some rolly seas. But we are reminded of the magic of sailing offshore when a little visitor drops by!
-
Pushing Through Orca Territory: Sailing from Spain to Tunisia, Part 2 | DrakeParagon Sailing
When sailing south off of the coast of Portugal, do we deal with Orcas or shipping lanes with the largest of cargo ships? Our choice: ships.
-
